Fernando Arce uses atomic force microscopy in combination with biophysical techniques to investigate membrane-mediated cytotoxicity mechanisms relevant to Alzheimer’s disease.

He is also interested in correlative studies of cell mechanics, cytoskeletal organization and membrane properties in relation to lung and cardiovascular diseases. He has over 50 peer-reviewed research publications in these areas with an h-index of 25.
